With the approach of the 33rd MYBA Charter Show, which is the leading fair for the superyacht charter industry, engines are already revving up and the Marina Port Vell Barcelona facilities are once again expected to be filled this year. The registration period starts today, Monday, for this year’s event for lovers of superyachts, which will take place April 24-27 in 2023 in the Catalan capital.
Organizers of the event are working out the final details for all of the activities that will take place during the week-long fair. For example, the Superyacht Chefs Competition is already generating great expectations as people anticipate the announcement of those who will be sitting on the panel of judges. The MYBA Charter Show in April will mark the opening of the 2023 season and, as such, will play an important role in the future of the superyacht charter industry for the coming year.
Aware that the economic benefit must include environmental and social considerations, organizers and Marina Port Vell Barcelona will make an important contribution to sustainability with measures that help mitigate the impact of its activity on the environment.
Marina Port Vell, the Hub of Yachting Fairs and Events
The success of the most recent MYBA fairs has strengthened Barcelona’s status as one of the main destinations for superyachts, and that of Marina Port Vell as a landmark facility in the Mediterranean for this sector. Last year’s fair was more modest due to the ongoing pandemic, but this year a return to previous figures is expected with more than 500 exhibitors and more than 2000 visitors, along with the more than 60 vessels that will be moored at the facility. Thus, the marina’s quays will be filled with some of the world’s most spectacular superyachts all week long.
With its quays, Barcelona’s marina for superyachts is a unique venue for major fairs and events, such as the International Boat Show, which draws more than 50,000 visitors. The major leading brands have already held events and meetings at the marina.
