Following the immense success of this year’s show in Barcelona, Superyacht Technology Network has announced a major expansion of its Superyacht Technology Show for 2025 with the inclusion of a Hybrid Electric Zone at Marina Port Vell, the Mediterranean’s leading superyacht marina and one of Europe’s most prestigious ports in the nautical sector.
The Superyacht Technology Show, one of the most important events in the superyacht industry, was held at the World Trade Centre in Barcelona from 18th to 21st March. During the show it was announced that the fourth consecutive edition would be held in the Catalan capital on the 19th and 20th March 2025.
It is the first event exclusively dedicated to superyacht technology, featuring expert speakers in the technology sector from around the world, as well as activities including hands-on demonstrations and workshops for attendees.
With up to 35 yachts berthed at a custom dock in Marina Port Vell, adjacent to the show at the WTC, the new Hybrid Electric Zone will highlight advances in alternative fuel and sustainable energy solutions, showcasing the latest technology in action aboard the vessels.
The success of previous editions of the Superyacht Technology Show has strengthened Barcelona’s position as a leading superyacht destination. Ignacio Erroz, General Manager of Marina Port Vell Barcelona, says “the event will help to consolidate the position of our city as a leading destination for premier yachts from around the world, opening a wide range of opportunities for the sector, boosting the local economy and providing added value for Barcelona, one of the main objectives of Marina Port Vell”.
Commitment to superyacht innovation and technology at Superyacht Technology Show 2025
This dedicated space will enhance and complement the extensive systems technology on show at the World Trade Centre and provide a platform for the leading superyacht builders and support industries incorporating innovative hybrid and electric developments in new projects.
While the focus will continue to be on technology, engines, batteries, and alternative fuels, the 2025 event will be the first edition to be independently audited for environmental and sustainability developments, focusing on yachts solely powered by alternative fuels and wind energy.
Marina Port Vell has hosted other internationally respected trade fairs and meetings, such as the MYBA Charter Show, The LYBRA Superyacht Show and the Barcelona International Boat Show. Also, with a reputation for quality and excellence, it is the venue chosen by many brands holding events.
