Marina Port Vell, the Mediterranean’s leading superyacht marina, has reported positive annual accounts following a year that saw the culmination of its transformation project, increased activity, and the strengthening of its position as an international yachting hub. In 2024, the marina reaffirmed its leadership, attracting superyachts and visitors from all around the world.

Our occupancy figures and the enthusiastic response to our value proposition reflect the effort done and forward-looking vision that define us as a marina.”
Completion of the repositioning project
In July 2024, Marina Port Vell completed its repositioning project and the associated investment plan that began in 2021, which involved an investment of €20 million to improve the capacity of its infrastructure and the quality of its services for superyachts.
The transformation plan, which focused on optimizing the water space, a landscaping project, and a new fuel supply system, aimed to bolster Barcelona’s status as the Mediterranean’s leading yachting hub and a prime destination for superyachts. It also aimed to balance and harmonize the different uses and spaces within the Port of Barcelona, specializing in exclusive services for large vessels.
Marina Port Vell named “Preferred Superyacht Marina” for the 37th America’s Cup
The 37th edition of the America’s Cup was a milestone for Marina Port Vell, making it the global epicenter for superyachts during the competition. The marina hosted over 150 superyachts, 75% of which were visiting Barcelona for the first time. To accommodate this surge in activity and meet the needs of a growing clientele, Marina Port Vell significantly expanded its team, increasing staff numbers from 30 to over 120 employees.
As part of this, Marina Port Vell launched“The Superyacht Marina Experience”, welcoming tens of thousands of national and international visitors who enjoyed exclusive activities and experiences. Guests could sign up for to VIP On Board experiences to watch the races in partnership with Wajer Yachts, as well as savor an exceptional culinary offering, including The Sea Garden space, Blue Wave cocktail bar, and premium spaces such as Moët & Chandon Terrace and Estrella Damm Lounge. Visitors could also stop by the official Marina Port Vell boutique and a Shopping Mile, featuring luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Prada, Maui Jim, INEOS Grenadier, and the Gloria Diagonal project by Conren Tramway.
