After two years conditioned by the evolution of the pandemic, the most popular mobile technology congress returns to Barcelona in a mainly on-site format. From 28 February to 3 March, Barcelona will host a new edition of the Mobile World Congress, once again becoming the capital of innovation. The Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue is expected to host more than 1,500 exhibitors, 400 speakers and attendees from 150 countries. It is time for the mobile technology sector to come together and collectively build a vision for a connected recovery.
MWC22: Connectivity Unleashed
Under the theme Connectivity Unleashed, MWC22 will focus on topics such as CloudNet, 5G Connect, the Internet of Everything, Advanced Artificial Intelligence and FinTech, among others.
In this edition, the intersection between connectivity, industry and innovation will play an important role. Key opinion leaders such as Prem Akkaraju, CEO of Weta Digital; Anne Chow, CEO of AT&T Business; or Nick Read, CEO of Vodafone, will participate in the congress as speakers to explore the association between connected industry and digital innovation.
Speakers will be joined by exhibitors from across the global connectivity ecosystem including Cisco, Deutsche Telekom, Ericsson, Google, Huawei, Intel, Nokia, Orange, Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics, Telefonica, Vodafone, and ZTE among others.
New for the 2022 edition, MWC is launching the GSMA Ministerial Programme, aimed at bringing together political leaders from all over the world; and the Industry City space, an area that will showcase how the FinTech, Manufacturing, and the smart mobility industries are leading in connected technology.
4YFN, boosting entrepreneurship
With the Mobile World Congress also comes 4YFN, its main partner event dedicated to the startup ecosystem. It runs in parallel to the congress, from 28 February to 3 March at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue, and aims to support startups, investors and companies to connect and launch new business ventures together. 400 startups and 500 investors are expected to attend the event.
This year, the main themes to be addressed at 4YFN will be framed within its 9 programmes, including Digital Health, Impact, SportsTech, Investors, Communities and Diversity4Tech, among others.
