At Marina Port Vell we are strongly committed to protecting the world around us, and we carry out different actions to minimize the impact of our economic activity on the environment.
In the ESG Plan that we presented in 2021, we chose to focus the marina’s environmental activity on three pillars: the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona and people. The Mediterranean Sea is union and life, and at Marina Port Vell we ensure that it remains so, minimizing the impacts produced and promoting conservation and awareness-raising actions.
These actions revolve around four essencial concepts for us: environmental contribution, water, marine ecosystem and awareness. Preserving the quality of water, one of the great natural resources fundamental to the functioning of the world, is of vital importance to Marina Port Vell.

Daily Tips, the importance of raising awareness
At Marina Port Vell we encourage the responsible use of water with specific indications to ensure a respectful and sustainable consumption of this natural resource.
In this regard, we present our “Daily Tips” campaign, an awareness-raising action aimed at both employees and customers of the marina, so that together we can all contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change.
With the first installment, water being a fundamental part of our activity, we wanted to focus on tips to reduce daily water consumption, in line with Goal 6 of the SDGs, ‘Ensure availability and sustainable management of water for all’.

Awareness of sustainable water use, in this case from a domestic perspective, is essential to maintain a balance in the use of resources. Turning off the tap when not in use, using household appliances at full load or not using the toilet as a wastepaper basket are gestures that contribute to saving this precious supply for everyone.
An agreement with Agua KMZero for a more sustainable water consumption
At Marina Port Vell we have decided to commit to a more responsible consumption of water. For this reason we have signed an agreement with Agua KMZero, through which we will contribute to the creation of a world where drinking safe water does not generate waste.
Agua KMZero is a company that proposes customized solutions based on the conviction that consuming water should not be harmful to the environment. It provides quality water, free of waste and microplastics thanks to an ecological filtering. As an ecologically responsible company, it also has a reusable distribution system in order to eliminate the use of single-use containers.

In Marina Port Vell we join the KMZero Water project through our new #Refill&Go water supply stations, through which we invite all marina residents to share with us a more sustainable way of drinking water.
With all these actions we emphazize Marina Port Vell Barcelona’s willingness to join the United Nations 2030 Agenda. Thanks to the actions included in our ESG Plan in favor of the preservation of the Mediterranean, we respond to Sustainable Development Goals 7, 13, 14 and 17: Ensure access to affordable, secure, sustainable and modern energy; Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts; Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources; and Revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development, respectively.
