Marina Port Vell Barcelona, the superyacht marina of reference in the Mediterranean, has once again become the setting for the MYBA Charter Show, one of the most outstanding international events in the luxury yacht charter sector. The fair, which took place from April 25 to 28 in Barcelona, marked its 4th edition in the Catalan capital.
A prestigious fair that reinforces the positioning of the city
The marina has showcased throughout the week some of the greatest superyachts for charter in the market, including M/Y Secret, M/Y Stella Maris, M/Y Triumph and the S/Y Shenandoah and we counted with the presence of more than 1,000 professionals from the industry.
The celebration of MYBA Charter Show in Barcelona has reinforced the position of the city as one of the main destinations for yachts. In this sense, Ignacio Erroz, general director of Marina Port Vell Barcelona, assures that he is convinced that “the event will help consolidate the position of our city as a reference destination for the main yachts from all over the world, opening up a wide range of opportunities for the sector, boosting the local economy and providing added value to Barcelona and the Blue Economy, one of the main objectives of Marina Port Vell.”
Commitment to sustainability and the social environment
In this 32nd edition, Marina Port Vell has supported the organization of the fair in its firm commitment to sustainability, promoting measures that help minimize the impact of its activity on the environment.
Likewise, aware that the economic contribution must go hand in hand with the social contribution, the agreement reached by Marina Port Vell Barcelona with the Amics de la Gent Gran foundation to raise funds during the MYBA celebration stands out. The donations made to the entity will contribute to combating the unwanted loneliness of the elderly and social isolation, guaranteeing their inclusion and improving their emotional health.
Much more than a nautical fair
In this edition, the MYBA Charter Show also featured the traditional superyacht chef competition, in which the Torres Brothers, iconic Catalan chefs, and chefs Romain Fornell and Oscar Manresa participated as judges.
This year a new category of cocktails was released in which hosts and hostesses competed for first place. On the show’s last day, the awards ceremony was held, and the participants met the lucky winner.
