Baqueira Beret, the jewel of the Catalan Pyrenees
Baqueira Beret is the ski resort with the largest skiable area in Spain. It is located in Vall d’Aran, just a four-hour drive from Barcelona, and its Atlantic climate guarantees snow all season long. Its slopes and services make it a favourite destination for Spanish and European royalty.
The resort is divided into four large areas at different altitudes, each with its own lifts and services: Baqueira, Beret, Bonaigua and Baciver. And when you fancy a break on the way, there is nothing better than showing up at some of the resort’s trendiest hot spots.
The Moët Winter Lounge is a high-end après-ski lounge that can be reached on foot from the Orri car park or skiing from the Beret or Baqueira areas. It is a unique space with a dining room and terrace designed for enjoying a glass of Moët & Chandon along with select tapas. Another of the must-see venues in Baqueira Beret is the Barralh Blanhiblar, a restaurant with a spectacular marquis and sun terrace with great views over Baqueira, the Beret area and Baciver, where tastings of Iberian ham with wines and cavas are held.
Other activities that can be done near Baqueira Beret ski resort are excursions on snowmobiles, dog sled rides, or snowshoeing in idyllic places, typical of high mountain landscapes.

In the Catalan Pyrenees there are also other highly recommended ski resorts for all levels. La Molina, located two hours from Barcelona, is one of the most popular ones. The Cerdanya area is beautiful, with spectacular nature and villages full of history and charm.
The best thing to do after skiing: a stroll through one of its villages, such as Llívia, and then having dinner enjoying the gastronomy of the area in typical places such as the Ermitatge de Quadres, La Formatgeria de Llívia or in the famous Das1219, a charming restaurant typical of the area led by the chef Ricard Borràs. Grandvalira, the reference ski resort in Andorra
One of the additional advantages of Barcelona is that it is only 3 hours away from Andorra, the country in the Pyrenees. Grandvalira, with 210 km of skiable surface area and mainly dedicated to alpine skiing, is the largest ski resort in Andorra and one of the main ski resorts on the Iberian Peninsula.
The resort has seven different sectors, each with their own access: Encamp, Canillo, El Tarter, Peretol, Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig and Soldeu. It is actually in Soldeu where it is possible to enjoy one of the most exclusive experiences of the whole resort, the Clicquot Bubble Experience.
