This past weekend Marina Port Vell Barcelona organized the 4th annual Captains’ Ski Escape, an event that has become a tradition and it is also a unique occasion for ski, mountain lovers and for all those who are looking to enjoy an unforgettable experience with colleagues. Once again, we feel very lucky to have shared this experience with all the captains and with our co-host MB92 Barcelona and we are grateful for the support of our sponsors Heesen Yachts, Pinmar, Jotun Yachting and BWA Yachting.
The resort of Baqueira Beret, located in the Catalan Pyrenees, is the best Spanish ski resort with 160 skiable kilometers and slopes for all levels. It is only 280 km from Barcelona, enhancing the city’s privileged position on the Mediterranean and it is just a few kilometers from the Pyrenees.
The experience has gone beyond all expectations from the beginning: once they arrived at their destination, the whole team had the opportunity to explore the mountains on snowmobiles, reaching unique and inaccessible areas. They were able to travel through idyllic landscapes, crossing impressive coniferous forests.
But the weekend wasn’t just about that: snowboarders and skiers were able to enjoy two days on the slopes of Baqueira, explore the Valle de Arán and its incredible villages like Vielha and Garós. We have to mention also the terrace of the Moët Winter Lounge, the most chic apres-ski on the Spanish slopes.
In the evening, our captains were able to discover the best traditional Spanish gastronomy in the most exclusive restaurants in the Valle de Arán: Casa Irene, which offers a menu of dishes made with local products, combining tradition and innovation, and La Sal Gorda, which has been preparing Basque-Navarrese cuisine since 1995.
This successful edition encourages us to start working on the next one, to continue impressing our guests according to the Marina Port Vell Barcelona style.
