MPV Supports Yachting in Palma
Members of the Salamanca Marine and Marina Port Vell team went on the road again in June, headed to the nearby island yachting hub of Palma de Mallorca. Early in the week, the Future of the Superyacht conference was opened by the President of the Balearics, José Ramón Bauza, who was extremely positive about the entire yachting sector, and promised his support for repeal of the matriculation tax. Salamanca Marine Director of Sales and Marketing, Norma Trease presented a paper titled “Why Invest in the Marine Sector?” The Future of the Superyacht was covered by local, regional and national press, and excerpts are available online at http://www.ntve.tv/
Later in the week, MPV Commercial Director Anella Alcott and Marketing Assistant Regina Serrano joined Norma as we sponsored and participated in the 16th edition of the Superyacht Cup regatta. Twelve world-class yachts took to the waters surrounding Mallorca, benefitting from warm temperatures and strong winds to deliver three days of exciting, competitive racing. We watched the racing from press tenders, the VIP vessel Barca Samba, finishing with a day of day of Superyacht racing. In a festive prize-giving at the Es Baluard Museum overlooking the harbor, our typically Spanish prize of a traditional ‘Jamon Serrano’ was awarded to the yacht Highland Breeze, owned by Superyacht Cup lead sponsor Gaastra, who brought home both First in Class and Third Place Overall.
