The urban waterfront of Marina Port Vell is a gateway to explore the city's sights on foot, two or four wheels. Close to the marina, you can wander the bustling streets of oldtown and vist landmark museums and further north you will encounter the modernist Guadi architecture of the Cathedral and Park Guell. Barcleona also welcomes many sporting events throughout the year, most notably the Formula 1.
ARTS AND CULTURE
Barcelona is renowned for its architectural and cultural splendour. Many of the city buildings date from medieval times, some from as far back as the Roman settlement of Barcelona. The National Museum of Art, Catalunya houses some of the finest artworks in the world and Antoni Gaudi's Sagrada Famila is a must-see a for visitors and, unfinished or not, is one of the world's great buildings.

SPORT
The city's proximity to the sea and mountains enables Barcelona to enjoy a long sporting tradition, which includes hosting the summer Olympic Games in 1992. Its location permits a multitude of sporting facilities to be found across the city and in surrounding regions, with particular focus on tennis, cycling, sailing and football. The city boasts the well known football team of FC Barcelona and is home to one of the Formula 1 race circuits.

LEISURE FACILITIES
Barcelona is abundant with leisure facilities, fitness centres, spas and entertainment venues. In proximity of Marina Port Vell there are two fitness centres, Club Natacio and the W Hotel Fitness Centre, which also benefits from the luxurious Bliss Spa. The city is home to the world renowned Gran Teatre del Liceu and the two famous music festivals; Sonar and Primavera Sound.

FANTASTIC BEACHES
Barcelona was recently voted the World's top beach city* due to the attractive seven beaches, totally 4.5km of coastline on its doorstep. The San Sebastia and Barceloneta beaches are the most bustling as they are the largest and closest to the city centre. Barceloneta beach is only a five minute walk from the marina.
